Always good to know you're looking out for me Joe! I tell ya this indecisive winter weather, I just don't I know where my head is at. Oh, wait, or did you mean the Dummy?

Anyway, still here awaiting Elvis' return. That should be at the end of the month. More on that upon his arrival. ;)

See you on the water,

Hi Joe

Thank you for your insights. Your observation of pfds with lots of pocketage reminds me I forgot to mention one functional aspect of this design that being that the front of the pfd is a smooth clean design it doesn't get in your way on reentries into your kayak from deep water and the semi rigid clamshell front helps keep pocketed items protected.

See ya on the water,

This looks like a very nice PFD and it fills what I consider a large hole in Astral's product line. They really have not had a sea kayaking or touring friendly/specific vest ever since they dropped their 300T model several years ago. I'm not counting the discontinued Grunion model, because I found the front panel on that life jacket extremely stiff. Two thumbs up to Astral and The River Connection!

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry you've had bad experiences with other drysuit manufacturers.

Personally I wouldn't use or carry a product from a manufacturer that wasn't willing to stand behind their product.

Stohlquist has been at the paddling gear design and manufacturing for a long time.
http://www.stohlquist.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=95&Itemid=89

The following is The Stohlquist Warranty from their website.
(I especially like the parts about "Tread Marks, Snake Bite and Barbed Wire")

The Stohlquist Warranty
Stohlquist WaterWare products are warranted to the original purchaser against defects in workmanship and materials for the life of the product. Consequential, incidental, direct, indirect or loss of property, and damage are excluded. For consideration under this warranty, and you are the original purchaser, and you purchased the Stohlquist WaterWare product from an authorized Stohlquist dealer, please return the item directly to Stohlquist WaterWare, with your proof of purchase (sales receipt). An authorized agent will then arrange, at no charge to you, the repair or replacement of the product This is Stohlquist WaterWare, Inc.’s sole and exclusive remedy for the original purchaser. In order for any claim to be processed, warranty information must be on file, and have been sent no later than 30 days from date of purchase. Any replacement product is warranted to the original purchaser of the Stohlquist product for the life of the product. This warranty does not cover any damage or defect, caused by misuse, abuse or accident and is not transferrable.

Therefore, any Stohlquist product which fails this warranty or is damaged or altered in any way for any reason even for any non-conformity or defect because of tread marks, rock and strainer tears, branch rips, razor cuts, additional holes, improper trimming of the latex gaskets, blown gaskets, snake bites, delamination due to improper care, mildew, being put in the dryer, barbed wire fences, will be, if possible, repaired for a nominal charge.

See you on the water,
(at this time of year I'll be in the Black suit)
