I’m sorry you’ve had bad experiences with other drysuit manufacturers.

Personally I wouldn’t use or carry a product from a manufacturer that wasn’t willing to stand behind their product.

Stohlquist has been at the paddling gear design and manufacturing for a long time.

For consideration under this warranty, and you are the original purchaser, and you purchased the Stohlquist WaterWare product from an authorized Stohlquist dealer, please return the item directly to Stohlquist WaterWare, with your proof of purchase (sales receipt). An authorized agent will then arrange, at no charge to you, the repair or replacement of the product This is Stohlquist WaterWare, Inc.’s sole and exclusive remedy for the original purchaser. In order for any claim to be processed, warranty information must be on file, and have been sent no later than 30 days from date of purchase. Any replacement product is warranted to the original purchaser of the Stohlquist product for the life of the product. This warranty does not cover any damage or defect, caused by misuse, abuse or accident and is not transferrable.

Therefore, any Stohlquist product which fails this warranty or is damaged or altered in any way for any reason even for any non-conformity or defect because of tread marks, rock and strainer tears, branch rips, razor cuts, additional holes, improper trimming of the latex gaskets, blown gaskets, snake bites, delamination due to improper care, mildew, being put in the dryer, barbed wire fences, will be, if possible, repaired for a nominal charge.

Being that I was unsure of conditions I used my usual Mitchell Black Magic. For the next race (L2L Norwalk, CT in Sept.) I’ll use a Northern Light Wing.

Your carbon/kevlar hull with white gel coat trims about 5 pounds off the weight of the standard fiberglass layup. Add back a pound or so as yours has an optional keel strip.

The Cetus MV I ordered and reported on in my review has an ultralight carbon kevlar hull and a full carbon deck. I wanted to see how light of a kayak they could produce. I also opted for the keel strip for some extra protection as my MV has the clear coat exterior.
